What to Expect
The Fleet
At Hofstad Fishing Co., we take pride in running a fleet that is built for comfort, reliability, and performance in Alaska’s demanding waters. Every boat in our lineup is selected and maintained with one goal in mind: giving our guests a safe, enjoyable, and productive day on the water. From offshore halibut trips to salmon fishing closer to shore, our vessels are designed to provide the right balance of fishability, stability, and passenger comfort.
The HOFshore is a 30' Duckworth built with a large, comfortable cabin, heater, restroom, and an expansive fishing deck. Duckworth is known for rugged, high-quality construction, and the HOFshore is an excellent platform for offshore adventures. With plenty of space to move around and a layout that keeps guests comfortable throughout the day, this boat is ideal for productive and enjoyable fishing trips in changing Alaska conditions.
The HofStorm is a 32' Boulton Aurora Kodiak powered by twin 300 hp Suzukis. This vessel offers a spacious cabin with all the amenities, including a heater, restroom, new electronics, and generous deck space for serious fishing. The upgraded power and equipment give us the confidence to run longer trips and handle a wide range of conditions, while still keeping guests comfortable and focused on the experience.
Josie Whales is a Boulton Explorer that is perfectly suited for fishing the Gulf of Alaska and Prince William Sound. It features a large fishing deck, restroom, heater, and plenty of cabin room for your crew. Known for its dependable design and efficient layout, this boat gives anglers the space they need to fish comfortably while enjoying a smooth, stable ride.
Safety First!
Client safety is always our top priority. Our vessels are equipped with essential safety gear, including rafts, life vests, flares, fire extinguishers, and satellite communication devices, along with additional safety equipment required to operate responsibly in Alaska waters. We closely monitor weather and conditions to help ensure every trip is run as safely as possible.
Just as important as safety is comfort. Each boat in our fleet is designed to keep guests protected from the elements with heated cabins, restrooms, and layouts that provide room to relax between fishing sessions. Combined with top-of-the-line electronics, quality gear, and dependable marine systems, our fleet allows us to deliver a high-end charter experience from start to finish.

Cancellation Policy
- Cancellations within 30 days of scheduled charter date will forfeit deposit. If we are able to rebook your charter spot, your deposit will be refunded less a 10% cancellation fee. Cancellations more than 30 days from the trip will be refunded less a 10% cancellations fees (this is to cover the online convenience fees and credit card fees that are not refunded to us.)
- Out of respect for other guests, if you arrive late for your scheduled charter and the vessel has departed, you will forfeit payment for your trip, no exceptions. If you notify us in advance of a late arrival, we will make every effort to accommodate “reasonable” requests. If you book the entire boat, departure and return times can be negotiated.
- On the day of your charter the captain will make weather assessments. Safety is our first priority. If a trip is cancelled due to weather, our guests will be given a full refund or the opportunity to rebook for another day, at their discretion. In most cases when weather may prohibit us from fishing in the Gulf of Alaska, we can usually still fish in the more protected Prince William Sound area.
- If we cancel a charter due to a mechanical issue before we leave the dock, we will refund 100% of your charter fee or rebook you for another day, at your discretion. If there is a mechanical issue after your fishing day is completed, you will not be refunded or compensated.
